Re: Howa Axiom riffle .204?? or something else??
Chris: Consider looking about for a used Cooper Phonex in 204. This may sound a bit ignorant but I really don't know where to look for a used cooper phoenix in .204. Should I look on craigslist? gun shows? pawn shops? that kind of thing? I guess I have never looked for a used gun and don't know whe...

Re: Howa Axiom riffle .204?? or something else??
I suppose I am also a little spoiled with my Black Riffle because it shoots so well. I am not interested in a bolt action that isnt capable of out performing what I already have. I like the Higher velocity of the .204 and it makes sense to get it in a bolt action instead of using the gas ejection sy...

Re: Howa Axiom riffle .204?? or something else??
I threw out the "$1,000" figure for a riffle just because I wanted to get some info on some of the more expensive riffles. I don't really want to spend that much unless the riffle is truly worth the extra money. I already knew about the Savage having a pretty good reputation for accuracy. ...

Howa Axiom riffle .204?? or something else??
Does anyone own one? How do they shoot? Accuracy is extemely important to me. I think it looks great but I would like to know more about it before I buy. What would you recomend to a guy who doesn't want to spend more than a grand but wants as much accuracy from a .204 riffle as he can get?? Thanks ...

Re: Gun Cleaning ar 204 and others a TIP
Thought I would throw out an obvious word of caution... Don't get brake cleaner in your eye balls!! It hurts like a MOTHER F#$%ER. lol. I managed to do it twice in a 30 min period when I was cleaning something a few years ago. It hurt like heck the first time and the second time was murder. It was a...

First attempt at 200yrds with my .223, I have some questions
I Have a mostly stock Bushmaster AR-15 in .223 and put it on paper for the first time. I shot 2 three shot groups at 200 yards, but I am very new to this. I measured from the center of the two holes that were farthest away but not sure if that is how to properly measure your groups. Measuring that w...

Re: IM A Beleiver
I did some reading and found a forum thread that suggests the piston systems actually lose velocity to the gas systems. probably not worth reading as it isn't backed by any facts but here it is. It also talks about the piston systems being less accurate. Definately a downer for me. http://www.thehig...

Re: IM A Beleiver
That is kind of what I expected. Thank you for the information. I may still go with an AR but i really don't want to lose any speed. I don't reload (yet) so a bolt action may be in my future. Does anybody have any information on the piston driven AR systems? Do those set ups loose less bullet veloci...

Re: Bunch of guys from Oregon on here.
Not sure how to answer why I like Oregon better. Just a personal preference. But you are correct, I have been boating on the Puget sound and it is a boater's paradise up there. And you are right, both states are pretty comperable and I love them both.

Re: IM A Beleiver
valar, I posted a comment on another thread asking a few questions about your AR set up. I hadn't seen this thread yet. You answered just about everything I wanted to know in this thread. Any idea what kind of speeds your shooting with the AR? I have heard that we lose a couple hundred feet per seco...

Re: need help deciding on a new 204....
Hello to all. New member here and reading some posts to get some info. Hey VALAR, I am very curious to know more about your AR build. What rate twist shilen barrel did you use? I am guessing it was 24". What trigger did you go with? I am new to AR's although I do have a full size standard issue...

Re: Bunch of guys from Oregon on here.
I am new to the site and checking out some threads. Thought I would give shout out. I was born in Portland Oregon and raised right across the river in Washington. Oregon is way better than Washington. lol. New to riffles and don't have a .204 yet but its only a matter of time.
