I'm BACK!!! ND PD hunt story

The last time I had been out shooting prairie dogs was December 2, 2017, when I was using the last shells I had loaded for my Stiller Predator action .17 Remington before I replaced the barrel. I was going to use that same rifle today with its new barrel. I parked the pickup at about 1:45, got my s...

Re: Rock Chuck vrs Varmegeddon.

Bill K--That 32 gr. bullet sure did a number on that chuck!!! Was that the only one he shot? It would be fun to get into an area where there were a bunch of those chucks to shoot at. Thanks for posting the photo.

Re: Another shoot in Lassen Co.

brooksb--Sure would have been nice to have a video of that critter flying through the air and getting hung up on the fence!!! That is my kind of photograph for sure!!! Thanks for posting.

Re: Rock fences and chucks

VARMINT SHOOTER--It looks like you found a nice spot for drilling a few of those rock chucks. That little rifle with the laminated stock is a sweet looking gun. Thanks for posting about your hunt.

Re: An epic day of shooting

Looks like you had a fun time. Makes me wish I was in better health so I could get out and do some shooting. Maybe my back surgeon will give me the OK to go out hunting around the end of May??? I sure hope so.

Re: Braving the cold

Is that just a hyphen between the "NW and 13" on the digital display or is it actually 13º BELOW zero??? That -13º F looks mighty chilly to me.

Do you have seat warmers on those benches????

Thanks for posting the photos.

jpx2rk--Thanks for your concern. That meeting with the pavenment has me out of commission for coyote calling for a week or two.

Rick in Oregon--I wonder if one of those prairie dogs I vaporized came back to Earth and tripped me

Another ND PD Hunt on 12-2-2017

The barrel on my Stiller Predator action .17 Remington is showing some heat cracking at the throat. I have decided to put a new barrel on this action and had 14 rounds still unfired. I had been using 30 gr. FBHP Starke bullets and wanted to shoot those rounds before I replaced the barrel. I had for...

Another ND PD Shoot on 10-20-2017

The weatherman was predicting “PERFECT” temperatures and winds for prairie dog shooting for Friday—like I believe what they say. Anyway I woke up Friday morning and the weather forecaster was right!!! It was 34º and the wind was out of the south at about 5 mph. I rolled out of bed and did my physic...

Re: Been a while since I've been here

I copied the photo and saved it to my Imgur page and spun it around so the rifle now appears above the dead coyotes:

Friday, 10/13/2017 Unlucky for ND PDs

I woke up Friday morning and the weather forecaster was right!!! It was 27º and somewhat cloudy. I reset my alarm and got another hour of sleep. I didn’t leave my garage until 9:22 a.m. and it was still only 33º. When I finally reached where I was going to park my pickup it was 10:14 a.m and the tem...
