Re: The plunk test
Folks, I wish I wasn’t getting on a plane tomorrow and again the following week because I could add my experiences to shooting bullets in water jugs. Years ago, I did a bullet test with defensive type ammunition. I tested 380, 9mm, 38-SPL, 357, 40 S&W, 10mm and 45 ACP. If the ammo was available ...

Re: Rat Rodeo Preps
Regarding TIR, many years back I was having TIR issues. On the fired case, the TIR was good, after resizing, it was really outside the max of .003 like .007 and greater.
The culprit was the pins in the press.

Re: lets talk powder.....
I've had good luck with Reloader 15, H4895, Varget, Benchmark, Reloader 10x, 8208XBR and many others in similar burn ranges.

Tom...I shoot the 1911 one handed myself, I find it easier plus a longer sight radius.

Re: What's Your Carry of Choice
Here's a couple more I use from time-to-time. They're competition guns but the one with the scope has taken out a fair amount of rats in Oregon & California's fields. I guess CA would be out now since it shoots lead target loads. Anyway, I've hit squirrels out to 100 yards+ with it. The 1911's a...

Re: 204 Ruger, which factory rifle?
the early Coopers had some nice wood on them. Until Rick's post, I didn't know Cooper had sold out so going FWD I don't what beholds with them.

Re: 204 Ruger, which factory rifle?
Nice stock wood on those two Coopers there, Jimmy! For routine factory stock wood offerings, Cooper was pretty much at the top of the pile during their production period. It's most likely now a thing of the past, as I have zero hope NH will continue what the MT Cooper factory did for so many years....

Re: 204 Ruger, which factory rifle?
I thought I'd wrap up this thread, or at least my initial reason for posting the question in the first place, and report that I've FINALLY found the rifle I was looking for! It is a Cooper model 21. I took possession of the rifle two days ago and for the past several days it has been in the very ca...

Re: Thoughts on cleaning methods and tumbling media-
The pins I use will pass through the flash holes and won't jam up in the primer pockets but they can be a irritating to get out of bottle neck cases and use I use a magnet because I don't want to launch a SS pint down the barrel.

Re: Thoughts on cleaning methods and tumbling media-
In my experience with corn cob & walnut media; corn cob really polishes them up nicely, walnut not as shinny but it's still clean. Wet clean, cleans inside and out including the primer pockets making the brass look like virgin brass.

Re: What's Your Carry of Choice
Its an aftermarket magazine and it holds 8 rounds. The mag isn't fully inserted and it has a bumper pad on the bottom.

Re: 204 Ruger, which factory rifle?
These aren't 204's but Cooper's are pretty darn good out of the box plus you get the load they tested the rifle with.

I have all three. They all work but for over all cleanliness, the wet tumbling i superior but it is more intrusive to work with.

Re: What's Your Carry of Choice
Here are a few more of my favorite carry pieces from time-to-time, the 629 is usually relegated to in the woods and the 686 is a good hip gun when out & about plinking and other such activities. The $280 dollar 1911 has been carried by me several times and its the only factory bright-blue Spring...
