Re: Binoculars for dad

Just an update. My dad loved the leupold switchpowers but couldn't quite get over the price. He ended up ordering the Nikon Monarch 10x binos.

Re: Binoculars for dad

Thanks Rick, he really wants to go with leupold but I warned him that the Green Ring products are not really made by leupold. Personally I think he should go with these!

Re: Binoculars for dad

Jim- The switch powers look pretty sweet. Reading the reviews, some people don't like the eyecups and say you have to hold the binos away from your face to use them. Have you had this problem?

Binoculars for dad

So my dad told me yesterday that he was ready to buy a decent set of binoculars. I guess the pile of junk ones he has stashed away finally got big enough for him to notice  . He wants to spend around $250 wich isn't a ton for good glass. So any suggestions? I could probably talk him into spendi...

Re: 204 Ruger and steel targets?

Rick - Thanks for the info. I want to shoot steel at longer ranges (problably 300-500+) with the 204, so I'm thinking a hanging piece of 3/8' AR500 would stand up to it just fine. A side note about rifle rounds on steel at 100 yards, last summer my little brother decided he wanted to knock down one...

204 Ruger and steel targets?

So a couple weeks ago I sent my Leupold vx-3 6.5-20 40mm AO scope to the factory to have an M1 elevation turret installed. I am expecting it back any day, and I cant wait to get to the range and start tweeking my drop chart :D ! I want to start practicing the longer shots, and a quick search on ebay...

Re: New and frustrated

TX204FAN - First, I'm sure sorry to hear about the theft. I know how violated you feel when some scumbag helps himself to your prized posessions. Now, with the new rifle, the 1 in 9 twist should stablize up to the 50 grain Bergers. Most people don't want to shoot that heavy of a bullet anyways, but...

Re: My 204 needs a friend...

I would also suggest watching sirslotsalot's videos on youtube. He is quite a shooter and his videos are very entertaining. I wouldn't have guessed the 17 remington to be a viable 500+ yard round until I saw it with my own eyes. That being said, a good compliment to your 204 ruger would be a round t...

Re: Brass

Just one additional firing for a total of 6 so far. Proper annealing will not affect accuracy negitively, only extend the life of your brass. Improper annealing can cause inconsistant bullet release, and heat should be kept away from the base of the case as it needs to be hard down there to contain ...

Re: Brass

Thanks for the info rick. I'm going to have to get one of those redding body dies and a bushing neck sizer. I have been using a lee collet die and I'm ready for an upgrade. Do you use the expander ball when neck sizing or just the bushings?
