Nosler Accubonds .338/225grn

Just checking to see how this bullets are preforming. I'd like to use them in a 338 Win mag and possibly a .338 Rem ultra mag.

Ray, although I personally shoot a .338-06 Improved and a .330 Dakota, I have no personal experience with the 225 grain Accubond, but......my wife works at Nosler, and from what she tells me, hunters from around the world have raved about the bullet from performance on the big stuff in Alaska, elk in the northern US, and guys hunting plains game in Africa give it solid marks.

From what I gather, the .338 Accubond and the same weight in the Barnes TTSX (Tipped Triple Shock) are the two leading premium bullets going today.

I like to speak from personal experience, but some friends who do shoot that bullet here, report excellent accuracy and all the elk shot with it were almost all harvested with one well placed shot, terminal performance was as advertised. It's on my list to try.....I just need that elusive stinkin' TAG!

Like RIO, I haven't had much luck in the tag lottery lately. So, can't help you with any personal experience using the 225 Accubond on elk.
I have a couple of .338 Win Mags, one a Sako and the other a Howa 1500. The Sako loves the 225 grain Accubonds and 210 grain Partitions. The Howa prefers the 200 grain Accubond but also shoots the 210 Partition well. I have killed a number of elk with the Sako using 210 Partitions. What can you say, but DRT with the Partitions. I must admit, I generally don't take very long shots while elk hunting. My longest shot in the last 10 years has been around 240 yards. I have done load development with the Accubonds, but seem to always gravitate back to those old Partitions since they always put meat on the table.

Thanks for the input............I just see Nosler is now putting 250 grn Accubonds out now! Thanks again. I mainly use Sierra's 215 and 250grn gamekings.

Just got done test a load in ruger 77 338Wm.
H4350/70.0/225 Accubond............3 shot group of .369 at 100 yrds. I think we have a winner here. These bullets run slightly under .3380. I order 5 boxes and got 2 different lot#'s. Measured 10 form each and .3377-.3378 in diameter.

Congratulations on the outstanding group! It doesn't get much better than that. I think you've got a keeper there.
Those big critters better watch out when you're out and about.
Thanks for the feedback on the load. I have not tried H4350 yet but will in the near future. What primers where you using? Cases?
I think you will be happy with the 225 Accubonds. They do have a higher BC than the 200 Accubond or 210 Partitions.

gwglave !! Primers I use are 90% Remington 9 1/2M, 9 1/2, and 7 1/2 BR this coves most of my loading needs. I have some federals but remingtons have been working!
9 1/2M was used in the load mentioned earlier.
