ruger mk II

Post by Lee C. »

A friend of my oldest son, Just picked up a ruger 77 mk II with a 14 twist barrel. What i would like to konw is what weight bullet would work best in this 14 twist barrel. Sorry this is a 22-250, Thanks for any advice you can give guys. I looked at shilen barrels and they say 50 to 52rg. bullets. But i would stell like to see what the guys here have to say about this. As i know there are a lot of good reloaders on this forum. Thanks agine every one. Lee

With the speed a .22/250 generates, it should stabilize 55s and even 60s (depending on the barrel). Personally, I've had excellent results with the 50s and 55s, in my old .22/250s. I've loaded and shot some 40s, but with the poor BC, they aren't worth the trouble, most of the time. It's more efficient with the heavier bullets anyway.

Lee, I also have to say 55 or 50's. The two I have the best luck with in my Rem and Ruger are 55gr Hornaday V-Max's and 50gr Remington HPs.
204 try it you'll like it!
