Leupold 6.5-20 40mm EFR Target Dot

Post by SactoBill »

Does anyone know the size of the dot? I tried searching on Leupold's website but couldn't find it.

Would this work for hunting ground squirrels?

Bill: Unless ordered otherwise, the Leupold dot is 1/8 MOA.

I tried this reticle for ground squirrels years ago.......not so good for the intended purpose. The dot "gets lost" in the background clutter of field shooting, and you'll be searching for the dot while the squirrel bails to other locations, at least that was my less than stellar experience with the target dot for varmint shooting.

Right now, IMHO, there's no better reticle for varmint shooting than the Leupold VHR. Even when dialing for range, the wind ticks alone are worth the price of admission. :D

You will not be disappointed in the VHR, Bill. I have used quite a few different reticles in prairie dog fields and the Leupold Varmint Hunter reticle reigns supreme.
