The Bunny and the Vartarg

Post by Rick in Oregon »

Well it's Easter time and the bunnies are everywhere, including the sagebrush bordering most alfalfa fields. This wabbit below was spotted while shooting squirrels the other day, sneaking from sage to sage along a fenceline 226 yards from my bench. As I was 'clicked up' for that exact distance, I just held on center-mass of said wabbit, and caressed the 10 ounce Jard trigger.....the 32gr Sierra BK at 3,700 fps did the rest.

See, a perfectly normal wabbit: (And 'no', I'm not flipping anyone off....it's an old injury, finger does not work)

He is only defective on one side:

During the course of the day shooting Skippy and his pals, we shot four jacks along the perimeter of the fields. Just a casual morning out.....200 rounds through my 20VT. Now it's almost time for an extended trip and longer ranges.......all my 204's for this next one. :D

Nice, you got some shooting in before the cold front hits. Another VT "clean" kill!

Nice shooting rick. Old injuries can put a challenge on life , but at least its not a trigger finger.

Way to go Rick. I've noticed around my moms place, the jacks are making a come back. None around her place for years, now every time I go out to have dinner with her, I see jacks of all sizes around her place. Since shooting is a no no, me thinks my pellet gun will be the answer!
