My shootin’ setup

Post by PDogRex »

Since it’s been asked for, this is my shooting setup here in MT.
Caldwell Stable Table in back of my Tundra, little extra height is good for spotting/shooting the varmints.
Easy to move from one shooting area to another (i.e. 50 yards or 100 yards) still have all my supplies with me.
This is in back of Tundra with a 5 foot 6 inch bed, but plenty of room for gear. The Caldwell Stable Table fits in there
really well.

Nice, now you're set up right proper there Rex! That sure beats shooting off the truck hood (we've all been there). I like your wind flag too. ;)

When I designed the BR Pivot, putting it in the back of pickups, including import was a criteria. Some of the setups I've seen over the years astounds me in terms of creativity. Platforms in/on the bed, raised platforms with ladders, the possibilities are endless it appears. One guy sent me pics of his motorhome with a platform on top with three BR Pivots and sun shades!

Good to know Caldwell used the same footprint when they made the ST from the BRP. Like you mentioned, a raised shooting platform is the bees knees when it comes to sniping Skippy and his pals.

As we all like shootin' pics, and just for fun, here's my buddy Dan shooting from his BRP from the top of a USFS fire truck (with permission);

And Dan has no qualms about using his .338 Lapua off his bench in the truck for a distant rock chuck while out shooting squirrels:

So don't be shy, post as many pics of you and your rifle out in the field as you want....we all like seeing what others are up to. :wink:

A friend and shooting buddy built this shooting set up. Sure made seeing the squirrels easy.

Bill K and I had a few of those mornings hovering around zero, but the squeeks were out in force on that ranch making you forget
the cold for awhile. The coffee and donuts were wonderful when we paused for breaks.
