Still in Surprise Valley

Post by bronad »

Since no one is either posting or shooting squirrels I'll give an update. The banquet was great, caught with friends exchanged exploits of long range squirrel eradication. We have been here a month today, doing lots of shooting and have had to break out the press twice to stay shooting with the 204, and today I went over the 1000mark, that only equals 30/day but because the wife is here we've done a lot of exploring, shopping and i didn't want burn out so most days when i shoot i head in about 1100 although to bust through 1K i stayed until 1430. Even though I've been here a while launching a flying squirrel never gets old.

That is really super.. I have been making some runs, but shooting down here is slow. Need to warm more and sun shine a lot more.
But so glad you are enjoying it up there, in Modoc. :D

I had to make trip out of state for a double family funeral so didn't get much shooting for a couple weeks. I'm home now though and the squirrels are out in full force. Lot's of young pup's out. My shooting partner and went out for about 3 hours yesterday afternoon. We shot until we both ran out of ammo, otherwise we probably would have stayed until sundown. We saw a lot of Olympic style acrobatics. We're going out again tomorrow. Just can't get enough of it.
