cfe-223 hodgdon powder

Post by truckerwalt »

i have 2-.204's. one a ruger light weight bbl and the other a savage model 12 with a heavy bbl and a nikon 4-16 monarch. using 30.5 grains of cfe-223 i get no copper in the barrel and with 35 grain bergers i can easily get 5 rounds inside 3/8"s at 100 yards sometimes a lot better. i get awsome groups also with this powder in my .223 in a 700 sps varmint also with a nikon monarch 4-16. with a couple of wet patches with kg-12 my barrel is clean.

is that load a little stiff ? judging it by another powder that only uses 26 grains . was there a question in there or just a shameless brag ? also have a sps var in 204 excellent firearm .

I am looking for good loads with this powder for both my 20 VT and .204R. Using the 32-grain Z-max. Anyone have any loads to share? Also any for .223 w/40 & 50 grain Z-max would be helpful.
