Range report on new cooper

Post by J-Rat »

I took my new rifle out this weekend to break in her barrel and see if it could shoot. Per the book. shoot five rounds, clean, shoot five rounds clean, four times. twenty rounds and she's broken in.

The first five shoots got me on target. The target picture is shoots 11-15, The first shoot on a clean bore is high the next four are in the same hole @ 100 yards off a bench. It took a year to get her. It was worth the wait.
I added pics of my reloading bench that I built a few years ago. (when my daughter moved out, her room became my gun room.)
I shoot 32 grn. sbk, 35 grn. berger. and 40 grn. berger , they all grouped really well.
Cooper Arms builds some very nice rifles.Image

Cograts, J-Rat! The ONLY bad thing about a new Cooper IS the wait. Don't let these slobs razz you over a tidy and well organized reloading area. That's just the way those of us with OCD roll!!! Have fun, be safe and enjoy.

Thanks for the kind words. Building that bench was a fun project, and it turned out better than I thought it would. As for it being clean. RAMOS is right. That is the way those of us with OCD roll. !!! ( clutter makes me crazy )
This rifle shoots better than any others that I own.

By jove, I think you've got it!

I'd say you've put together a steller looking rifle that shoots as good as it looks. Congrats on a sweet varmint rig. Any misses in the field will probably be traced directly to the operator by the look of that last group. ;) Well done! :D

(That rifle/scope combination looks vaguely familiar........ :chin: )
