I bought a Savage .204 model 11 today. I've been researching Boyds aftermarket thumbholes.According to their website some metal parts from savage a required to do the swap. Anyone fill me in?Thanks.Gun was bought wearing a weaver 3-9x. It was sighted in by the sales guy that sold it to me. Below are my 1st 3 shots...

I don't know about Boyd's but I have a Savage model 12 that I just put a bell and Carlson stock on that bolted right up. Shrunk my groups 1/2" at 200 yds. Sorry to not really answer your question but maybe something you'd be interested in looking in to.

If that is the 1st 3 & there that good why would you even think of a new stock? At least shoot a 100 out of it. My 11 Lt. Wt. Hunter w/a pencil bbl. in 260 Rem is a bug holer. Dick

Those 3 were off a lead sled. The gun is currently wearing a plastic stock. I was thinking a wooden thumbhole stock would spruce it up and help me shoot off a bipod.

I have a Savage model 12FV in .204 came with plastic stock. Replaced with a Boyds custom thumbhole sky blue stock and I love it. Groups improved from 1/2 inch to 1/4 @ a hundred yards and looks 100times nicer.
