Hello folks, new guy here from SD. Own & reload many calibers but first time .204 Ruger owner. Bought a Savage 110 varmint with the accustock last weekend but I can't leave anything alone so I bedded it into a B&C target/competition stock. Ordered up some Redding dies & bought an assortment of 32, 39 & 40 gr bullets. Hope to get some good advice here & hopefully share a thing or two I know to a new reloaded or hunter.

Welcome aboard there, Bigdaddy. Looks like you'll fit in here just fine.

Your rifle is most likely a 12 twist, so know up front that shooting the 40 grain bullets is a crap shoot due to proper stabilization/bullet overall length. But most new 204 shooters have very good luck with the 39 SBK for a "heavy", and about any 32 grainer for most PD and/or rat shooting as we do here.

If you cruise old posts here, you'll see all the 'magic' recipes that have given good accuracy for members. Once you get your new baby out into the field, be sure to post some "hero" pics.....we like pics here.

Rick, thanks for the info. I did buy a couple hundred 39 gr Sierra blitz kings as I see they are very popular. Looking forward to reading up on some load recipes.
