204 Barrel -AR

Post by KnotRight »

Looking to change out a 300 BO AR to a 204 (22-24"). Not a lot of barrel to pick from. Would like on with a max price of $300. Found one but it said that the barrel nut might need to be customized. Not really sure what customized means.

I have a 17 Rem and 204 Ruger Shilen AR barreled uppers. No complaints here.
The only thing I did "custom" was to match the feed ramps on the receiver to the ramps on the barrel extension. Feeds perfectly.

My .204 AR also has a Shilen barrel but they may be a little over $300 now. Mine's about 4 years old and I've probably put 7-8 hundred rounds down the barrel. I used an Anderson upper that I built and didn't have to do anything with the barrel nut. Randy.
