Is this something I should pick up? I have seen most 12's going for $550 IIRC.
Edit: It has a poorly mounted, cheap scope with cheap rings and base(s)

WHICH single shot? This can still be a long action (110/112 series) but stamped as a model 12.
What is the distance between the action screws? If this is the 5" flavor, these are highly desirable. Have seen some of the basic actions (action/bolt/trigger) sell in the $500 range alone.
If if is the short action, with or without accutrigger, it is still a good deal. New actions run $350-385, IF you can find them.
For shooting prairie dogs or targets, I prefer the single shots. Have never had occasion to have a quick follow up shot on a paper target.
