40 gr. hornady vmax

Post by Michael »

I just purchased my .204 i bought an h&r handi grip synthetic stock stainless barrel. I bought the hornady vmaxs in 40 gr to shoot out of it. Does any one have any feed back on the gun itself or the round? If you could get pack to me I would apprciate it.

I don't have any experience with the H&R, but I've sent a lot of 40 gr Hornady Vmax rounds out the barrel of my .204. What would you like to know?

Will 1:12 twist stabilize the bullet I have read good and bad things. Today I ordered the cz 527 varmint in .204 heard bad things about the h&r trigger, know anything about the cz?

I have two 1:12 twist .204 rifles. My bolt-action 1:12 performs well with them while my AR prefers the 32 gr heads. Hopefully some CZ owners will chime in for you, since I don't have any experience with those rifles either.

I shot the Hornady 40 grain V-max in my new CZ-USA Model 527 "Varmint" .204 Rifle and they performed pretty good.....I was hoping for tighter groups and after sighting the gun in and shooting it a little I went with the Winchester 32 grain ballistic tips...they didn't group up as good as the Hornady 40 grainers.....when I run out of the Winchester 32 grain bullets I'm switching over to the Sierra Blitz King cartridges in 39 grains because I read they grouped the best and were easy on Predator/Varmint hides! :chin:

40 gn VMax and Bergers both shot great for me out of a Savage 12 VLP Bolt and a Rock River AR-15, both 1:12 twist. My loads are in the "Favorite Loads" thread. Probably more info than youwnat there... I love it, LOL!!
