New 204 Ruger Build

I just completed my 1st 204 Ruger build after receiving the 26" WOA H varmint barrel last Saturday. I blew off work on Wednesday to get out and sight it in. I will use this rifle in rotation with 2 other .223 builds to hunt P. Dogs out West. I was able to score 1200 rounds of Federal 204 Ruger ammo (40gr Nosler Varmint). 8 shots later (with 1 - 3 shot group at 100yds) and I couldn't be more pleased with how this rig shoots. 8)

That's a beauty! Wish we could build these without all the Ca. evil features! Although my .204 on an AR platform is compliant it shoots great! R!

So what hoops do they make you jump through in order to make it Kalifornia. Thanks for the compliment.

There are at least 6 'evil' features.
-folding stock-adjustable stock
-adjustable stock
-flash hider
-forward pistol grip
-rear grip gets complicated-it has to do with the web of your thumb and the position of the trigger. Most compliant stocks have a blade to prevent you from wrapping your thumb around the grip. My stock positions your thumb above the trigger.
Look up AR15 evil features for more details. My compliant AR15/.204 is sort of strange looking but it shoots great. Randy.

I'll just add that it's just great living in a state that you do not have "compliance" firearms. What a load of B.S.!

What ever happened to individual FREEDOM?

The requirements for an AR can be frustrating while trying to find parts and as we all know, have nothing to do with what happens when some nut case goes off the deep end. For me, the biggest PITA here in CA is the lead free requirements. No condors here in Northern Ca.

California is like so many places, no one of these laws on Compliant approved AR's effected any of the criminals, they did not change theirs, only the lawful citizen did and those are the only one's that LE checks on.
As for the lead free ban, to help save the condor and other raptor's eating game or offal shot with lead bullets, that was a full blown piece of total lies and deceat by the save the condor group and the anti-hunt game commission bought and fell for it, of course.
Proven fact that the deer brought into the hearing was not even a deer shot, but a road kill, hit by a vehicle.
And as mentioned, other than a small area in California and they are dying faster there now, actually starving too death and still getting lead poison from old buildings in their range, that had lead in the paint used, there is not and never was a condor in the rest of california.
Total hogwash, but then again what isn't in California now with the Socialist Democrats in charge ? Bill K :)

Individual freedom is only for the socialist democrats in the state Rick. All of us must social distance, wear masks, not go out, gather in groups and be only with close/related family and even then in small groups. Yet the Democrats, from the Governor and others in his admin, do those things and then just cover it over when it is brought to the attention of press and public. It is something else anymore in Sacramento and other major city politics. Bill K :)

Not trying to HijackThis thread. Im having the opposite results with my new build. GGP upper and lower setup with a Smith tactical barrel. 22 inch heavy 1:12 twist. Im getting 3 inch groups at best using either a 39bk or 32 gr bullet. 40s were decent but had more fliers in the 4 inch range. Im very new to this but a friend assembled it and hes pretty experienced. I think from research i may need to slow down between shots more which may help. The groups do move upwards. Any other tips or ideas are much appreciated.

What do you have on the barrel for a flash or compensator. Some of the flash suppressors can affect accuracy You might try a group or two with out it and see

I actually have a compensator/brake on but I was reading they arent really necessary and it is very loud. So I will remove it and give that a shot. Thanks.

It's a Radian Raptor Charge Handle.

No flash or compensator installed. The Barrel is a 26" White Oak Armory Varmint barrel with a 1-10 twist.

I have 1 AR15 with an 18" barrel that has a muzzle brake that I have been taking with me out west to shoot P. Dogs with for years. Have 1,000's of rounds down the pipe but just can't seem to shoot it out! I have another White Oak Armory 26" varmint barrel that I will install on it once the accuracy drops off, but the 18" Lothar Walther barrel just continues to chug along. I was talked into putting a MB on a 6.5 Creedmoor (Faster target acquisition shot to shot) but other than heavy large calibers I won't install them.
