I read on Les Baer website that their 204 varmint AR only holds 5 rounds. Is that true of all ARs? I am building mine now and will be ordering some magazines soon.

"Note: Because of the taper on .204 Ruger cases, the .204 20-round magazines will actually only hold 5 rounds per magazine."

I use 10rd 5.56 mags and have no problems with loading 10rds in them. Never had any issues

The 204R was specifically designed to be the same overall length as the 223/5.56, so in theory at least, any Mil-Spec quality mag should accomodate the 204, even the 30 rounders.

This is the exact reason the 204R has the rediculous overly deep seating of factory bullets......longer case that must keep the OAL the same as the shorter cased 5.56 cartridge to fit AR/M16 mags.

I have several 20s and 30 rounders. They hold the same amount of 204 as 223.
