Post by Malazan »

Do you Chamfer and Debur the case mouths every time you reload them? Or only after trimming?

If you are talking brand new brass, it is a good idea to chamfer and debur the case mouth. Once you fire this brass, it is not necessary, until you trim.

I do it everytime, i feel it lets the bullet slide in better, as long as you do not get to strong with the tools i have not had a problem.

Once you have established the bevel, it is there until you trim. No need to "sharpen" the case mouths :) !

Just what I was going to say. I guess you could do it every time if you were making leather punches out of your cases........

Smitty, if you feel that your' cases have gotten a tad sharp, try this: Chuck up a magnetic nut driver in your' cordless drill and stuff it full of OOOO steel wool. High speed, light pressure on the case mouth. The result is smooth as butter! I do this as a final step after trimming and deburring.

Yup, only after trimming. I like to avoid work... unless it means a tighter group, then I'll work like a DOG!! LOL!!
