Factory Ammo

Post by tfo »

I know you guys handload your own, are components are readily available to you---primers, .204 caliber bullets, powder, etc. I haven't been able to find factory ammo for months. None locally and none available online (Brownells, MidSouth shooters, Natchez SS, etc., Sportsman Warehouse, etc.). Are you finding the same to be true? Any suggestions?

Shelves are full of 223 ammo. I'm scared that there isn't sufficient market to produce a run of .204 Ruger.

Thanks, tfo

Just asking. Do you have the equipment to reload?

I dont think you are going to see .204 Ruger ammo for a long time. But who knows. I load my own

Tacticool has bulk ammo for sale. You're going to have to buy 500 rounds, though.

As skipper mentioned, some have factory ammo for sale, but in lots of 500 or more rounds. Single box of 20, mostly out of stock everywhere.
I would say if you don't reload, get set up to do so, as reloading supplies show here and there and you buy when you can and stock up. :)

No, I no longer reload (used to handload 30-06, 25-06, 357 Magnum). I don't shoot enough to make it worthwhile to gear up for .204 Ruger. Even bulk lots aren't available from the major outlets I mentioned. I might be up for a 500 rd lot if loaded with good hunting bullets from Tacticool, I'll check them out. Not familiar with Tacticool. Is it tacticool.com? Thanks, tfo

Not sure what kind of shooting you do, but 500 rnds would last two days at most in a good ground squirrel or PD field. Get the 500 rnd lot and sit on what you don't use for now, as you WILL eventually use it and prices are sure to be higher by that time. See?......just saved you some bucks.

Wow!! Just checked out the 'scam' website. Many testimonials of being scammed. Customers didn't get product or refunds and banks didn't honor disputes!! Thanks guys, so grateful. Saved me a bunch. This is a great website!!!

In the long run it may be better just to buy a new rifle in 223--supply of ammo seems endless.

Seems like a lot of folks have forgot, or being younger never heard the old saying " If something sounds to good to be true, it probably is.
Scammers play on that and other issues, we can fall for. :)

Yes sir! And especially in times like these with severe ammo and component shortages. The slimeballs come out of the woodwork to prey on those who need it most. It really pays to do our homework these days. One red flag is if the seller does not accept credit cards. Beware.

** But Bill, I'm certain you intended to say "too good to be true, it probably is", right?
