Darius

Welcome to the forum Darius.

Your load sounds a little weak. Sierra lists 25.1gns as a starting charge for 4064 and the 39gn Sierra.
With a bulky powder like 4064 it should'nt be dangerous. Just low. Good Luck.

Thank you. I just bought a box of the 39gn Sierra and loaded 50 rounds with 25.5gns of IMR 4064. I hope to shoot both rounds this weekend. I went with the 24gns of IMR 4064 because I could not find any info for the dogtown round and IMR 4064. I know it is light but I wanted to be safe to start with. At least I have no place to go but up. I hope to be able to post the results from the weekend.

Look at the photos for how well the did or did not do. I you have any good info that could help I would love to hear it. I also used 2 factory loads.

NICE, I think I will try RL10 next. I have a pretty good load worked up with BL-C(2), but I want to try RL10.

I have always found there is 2 and sometimes 3 sweet spots for a powder. Sometimes the increase in velocity is worth it, sometimes not. I am still curious to see how this puppy hunts (paper targets, not pelts) at 600 and 800.

camo304. Not to cause a bunch of these characters heads to swell. But of all the simular sites on the web. This one is by far the best. Good info, real straight and honest (for the most part) and everyone keeps civil. Not like so many of the others, whereby the members just go overboard and do not have any manners many times. You will surely enjoy this group. Bill K

+1 Bill
I joined another sight a while back, but it's so full of "mine's bigger than yours" I got frustrated.
What's great about this site is everyone seems keen to learn and teach.
Guess it's almost time for me to post my favourite load. Just need to get a few more tests in

I have a Rem. 700 VLS. I just tried the Nosler 32 gr. Varmageddon and I'm really impressed. Winchester brass, Rem. 7 1/2 primers. Brass had already been fiired several times, I just neck sized, champfered mouths, cleaned primer pockets and wiped cases clean. My loads were from 27 gr. to 30 gr. of BLC(2) in .5 gr. increments, three loads each. Groups were from .168 with 28.5 gr. to .735 with 30 gr. I have only shot one badger, at about 150 yds., with the Varmageddon but it performed perfect, just a small caliber sized entrance, no exit. I like the Varmageddon bullet and I think it might become the bullet I use in .204. Hope to try it on coyotes this season.
