A small female coyote, around 19-20lbs with a 39gr SBK at 419 yards with a lazer range finder. Quartering toward me. Went up on her hind legs and just fell over dead, not even a twitch.

After 11 Fallow deer this Red hind is the biggest animal so far with my Ruger Predator 204. Shot across a large ravine at 474 lasered meters from position marked by crosshairs in background and witnessed by hunting mate and farmer who were both gobsmacked. She was up the hill further when hit. Shoulder shot I aimed approximately 40cm above her. Using Hornady factory 40 grain VMax. The 204 drops every animal I have hunted with one shot.

 SMOKIN!!!
Proves how versatile this caliber is.
I had no doubt a head shot at 100-200 yds would kill a deer, but almost 500?! Gives me much more confidence for the mission I'll be doing soon.
On holiday in Tasmania at the moment, then passing through Kangaroo Island on our way home where I'm hoping to try my 204 (Ruger Hawkeye too) on some pigs and goats!!

Good shootin mate. Hope I can post some picks soon

thats a good shot, not so sure its good shooting though, 100yards but thats is some distance, we have a min cal of 243 with 100grain for fallow i know a .204 would prob drop one but i think it would have to be no more than a 100 yards..
all the same good shot.....

I have shot a few badgers with my .204, 40 gr. v-max and 32 gr. varmageddon. It really puts them down, DRT. I hope to get some coyotes with it this winter. I really like the .204. With 32 gr. varmageddon and 28.5 gr. BLC(2) I shot a three shot group at 100 yds. that measured .168. My gun is a Rem. 700 VLS.

My son's Yote was pretty scrawny, but the AR 204, 40 NBT and Varget got it done

I guess I am sort of old school, in that I just don't believe in pushing the envelope on game animals, that I think should be taken with a larger weight bullet. To each his own in that respect! The biggest thing I have attempted to kill with my Ruger model 12, in .204 caliber is a male coyote (weighing 34-lbs) at 190 yds. I believe that the Ruger .204 is an awesome P-dog rifle!!! My wife loves being able to view through her Leupold scope, the after shock of her bullet striking one of those critters.

Apart from many many headshots while culling springbuck, impala and blesbuck out to 300meters. I also use it when taking out first time hunters that dont own a rifle and they also have shot numerous of the same species. Never has any animal made it further than 10meters.

Truly a magnifisant cartridge.
