Re-barrel the CZ 527 ?

Post by Guy M »

Not that my rifle's barrel is wearing out quickly. I haven't actually used my .204 as much as anticipated, so the barrel is still hanging in there nicely.

When that time rolls around, are there any special considerations to re-barreling a CZ 527 rifle?

I was thinking a stainless, cut-rifle, same length and contour as the factory varmint barrel, so it will fit the stock just fine.

Perhaps a tad tighter twist to better stabilize those longish 40 grainers.

Any particular worries about re-barreling the CZ rifle?

Thanks, Guy

Guy, because the CZ uses metric action/barrel threads, make sure the smith you choose to do the work is set up for metric work, as many here are only set up for SAE/domestic thread work on their lathes and won't touch a CZ for that reason.
