I missed that was a 20 Nitro, thought it was 204 ruger velocities. Looks like a fun cartridge, I'm sure is was a challenge and time consuming to build. I love those 39 SBKs on prairie dogs at 3700, I'll bet they really do acrobatics with an additional 300-400 fps.

Wirelessguy, you have my interest. What all is involved in forming the 20 Nitro case? Are there dies for less than $340 for just a seating die?

There are lots of different ways to form the 20 Nitro brass, depends if you have a set of 6 or 22 BR bushing dies already or not. You can also accomplish it with a 22BR FL die and series of bushing changes in a 20 Nitro bushing die. The easiest way to do it is running the brass thru a FL 22 BR die and then thru a 20 BR FL die. I also have the option of selling formed brass if someone is interested in that. The die set that is offered on the website is a 2 die set consisting of a Whidden 20 Nitro FL bushing die and a Micrometer top sliding alignment sleeve seat die.

If you can find a brass welding rod, that just fits into the barrel, pick one up, and use that instead of a cleaning rod. You can tap on the end of the rod with a hammer, and just maybe get that brass out of the barrel.

Just curious, DoubleJ, were you ever able to get that brass out of your rifle?

Me too!

For my 22 and 30 cals I have a military broken case extractor but for the 20 cal I have nothing and have often wondered what is the best method to get them out.
