Very nice, Don.....there's nothing like a quality leather rig for a fine pistol, and Milt Sparks fits the bill. You'll get a lifetime of use out of it, I'm certain. Mine is still going strong; worn covertly every day. :D

I was looking at a Smith & Wesson 1911SC the other day and yours looks very similar; are they the same? I compared it to its Kimber counterpart and I was surprised. Also, I liked the rounded grip, seemes to come out from behind my back easier than the STD one.

The PC has the briley bushing system, the slide cuts and a bit more hand fitting. You are right. The round butt does hide a bit better...

Off the cuff, would you know if the S & W or Kimber Models use STD USGI style parts or are they unique to their own brand? With all of my 1911's (4-Colts and 1-(early) Springfield Armory)) all the parts interchange.

The Smith has an external extractor.

Dammit, Rick... I liked it so much I picked up another for the EMP. You are good at costing me money, fella.

You know Don, that's what some of my friends wives say too. Just consider me one of your "purchasing mentors".

Seriously though, that pic really shows the size comparison well. That little EMP in the Milt Sparks VMII is one sweet, and probably comfortable carry rig. The personal brand is a nice touch too.

Now that I've seen that, you very well may be costing ME money in the near future!

How do you like the EMP? I tried one out years ago when they first came out and I liked the feel of it. I don't see many of them around, but I've often wondered if the magazines are readily available. In your opinion how would rate it against a comparable Kimber, S&W or Sig-Sauer [1911's]? Just curious because I'm starting to search for a purchase of pistol of that size in the future.

Thanks for all the tips,

Jim

I personally like the EMP over ANY of the 45 compacts you mentioned because of the smaller, slender grip. Kinda scaled down to 9mm and 40......
