Not my first choice for a carry sidearm. Have one in my recliner pocket, though.

Not my choice for carry either, but I do carry my M29 Classic Hunter 3" .44 Mag when in the dark timber loaded with my hard-cast Keith 250gr SWC's for bear or cougar encounters, or one of my Smith .38's loaded with snake shot for the summer months in the outback for those sneaky crawler things that bite and send you to the hospital. I've got all frame sizes in my Smith collection, just don't carry any of them for CC.

For carry though, it is and will always be a iteration of the 1911 in either nine or .45 ACP as shown above. Revolvers do indeed have their place, but for me, not for carry. I don't like to be restricted to five or six shots, another reason not to carry a wheel gun when I've got plenty of auto-pistols actually designed for concealed carry with far less bulk.

One thing for certain though, we've got some great choices at this point in time. JMO

I love the old SW revolvers. I have had the Model 10, 19, 29...the 19 was my favorite. At present I have a SuperBlackhawk and a Charter Arms .38

My little collection of revolvers for the most part have been S&W's. Model 19, 28, 29 and Chief's special. Colts Model Detective special and Python. Most in 357 mag. Chief and Colt were 2in and carried either as a backup, on duty and off. The 29's were 44 mag, the 4 in is a mountain hunter like Rick's, the other a 6 in standard type. The other's are mostly 4 to 6 in barrels. Don't shoot them as often as when I was working the streets and in later years, prior to retiring, went to the 1911 full time, especially when riding motors. Like you TK the older S&W's seem to be my fovorite revoler. I do have a couple single actions, Ruger and a small 22lr 3 in Heritage. All are fun in their place. :D

I do carry my Taurus model 605 with me into the north woods in case a predator would mistake me for a snack. My Ruger Mk IV 22-45 will also accompany me into the woods during the small game season when I want to challenge myself with some up close opportunities to bring home meat for the table. These days, I believe it's wise to keep in practice, accurately taking care of a target wanting to do me harm or being able to feed myself & family without going to the grocery store.

Lots of excellent looking hardware. For me, I have a wide variety options in a wide variety of calibers. Some are striker-fire models while others are the more traditional semi-auto's such as the 1911. Calibers range from 9mm, 40 S&W and 45 ACP. If I'm in the woods, it's a S&W 629 or a Glock 20 and if need be, a S&W 357/38 with snake-shot pills.

Since we've decided to post gun candy I thought I'd trot out the old hand canon. Had this for over 30 years now. There was a time in my life that only magnums could satisfy the itch. The Desert Eagle checked all my boxes.
