Another win for us...

Post by WrzWaldo »

Just waiting for the man to sign it... He has indicated he will sign it this week!

In a separate 279-147 vote, the House approved an unrelated Senate amendment that permits concealed weapons in national parks and wildlife refuges where allowed by states.

And every win is an important win....every bit helps. It is reassuring when logic and common sense actually prevail for a change. Could this be a trend? Naww....what was I thinking. :duh:

Truely though, writing emails to our "leaders" actually does make a difference. The same time it takes to post here is the same time it takes to rattle out your thoughts to these people in hopes of more positive decision making.

For sure RIO!

Anyone that sits on the sideline thinking their opinions don't count only help to stack the deck in the anti-gunners favor! Folks your legislators really do want your opinions… The only way the majority wins is when the majority makes their desires/opinions known to their elected officials. This goes for every level of politics, city, county, state, federal! Don't be afraid to speak you mind to these folks but be polite/tactful.

It has been signed....

But will not be official law until February 2010.

The department plans to work on implementing the new law in the meantime, focusing especially on public safety and the safety of National Park employees, Barkoff said.
Implementing the new law?? Just more anti-foot dragging! But still a win for us!

Either that, or it gives the otherside a chance to go judge shopping to issue an injunction, just like they did when the ban was lifted in December.

As a federal employee, and a Concealed Carrying citizen, I am very pleased that I can now legally carry my personal defensive weapon while hiking the state trails with the family and not have to worry too much about the credit card companies jacking me around.

I only hope things go well and noone makes a mistake that ends up costing the rest of us a loss of privelage.

This is indeed great news for all those who have the CCW like the wife and I. We plan on taking the motorhome around to several of the national parks like we did 25 years ago. This time I can do so legally praise the LORD! :D :D

Well, win some, lose some.

Yesterday I visited the Bonneville Hydro and lock facility and the very nice, even appologetic man in the guard house insisted on inspecting my trunk, looking for Firearms and other contraband. Now in these times I don't blame them one bit.

"It is a federal facility you know."
