Maybe a couple of new rimfire leverguns will push me towards the dream?

I've always loved the looks of the classic lever rifles. When my dad passed away in 2009, I got his old model 94 in 30-30 cal. Over the years driving his log trucks, during deer season, this lever gun was always in the truck beside him. I could not tell you how many deer he killed from that old logger, but I know it was a lot. I tagged almost all of them, so he could still keep hunting. He got that old "94" from one of his uncles, who was a real cowboy. That rifle was always with him on his horse, in the scabbard. And I still have that old scabbard also!

My bespectacled eyebulbs are having trouble with the iron sights, so I robbed a reflex off an AR and put it on the browning. May do the same on the winchester....

Lookin' good there, Don! Gotta love those lever guns. I can relate to the ageing eyeball thing too. My .22LR 9422 wears the replacement blade rear sight that's now an aperature leaf (from One Ragged Hole), and my 22WMR version has a Lyman folding tang peep that really delivers.

I bet that reflex sight on yours is great for fast target aquisition for bunnies on the run. ;)

Hope you don't mind me showing off my Marlin 357M that I picked up brand new back in 1982. It likes to shoot coyotes.

She weighed about 20-25lbs I would guess. I was setting in the middle of a hay field when she came out. I don't know how long she watched me as she was standing there when I turned around. LOL

If you look closely you see the drag line in the wet grass. She was standing right where it starts at the top of the hill. She fell over sideways on impact. 100yds +/-

Glen, the Marlins are skookum.... I have two. A Mountie and a 1894M (22mag). With the addition of the browning and the winchester mag, I'm set.....
