If you do not do so, you better start reloading that stuff. Bill K :)

50 rounds of new Hornady brass costs me $24-25. Norma is in the $50-60 range. I bought new loaded brass for the cost new brass. I can't buy new brass and load it for that price.

17hm2lover: Glad you'll be shooting your 204R, but in the end you'll end up with (ugh) a pile of the most unpopular brass made in 204 Ruger. Tight primer pockets will be the order of the day. Hope you've got lots of patience!

Really, among the hundreds of shooters here and elsewhere, Hornady brass is the most disliked, period. This is not just me either, but many voices speaking out against the stuff. Good luck, you're going to need it.

(There's reasons folks are willing to pay more for Norma, Nosler and Lapua, but you'll find that out for yourself. )

It's so strange, because while I can't really argue with Hornady's 204R brass not being my fav', their 6.5 Creedmoor brass is truly excellent.

Thanks for the heads-up on the ammo, 17hm2lover!

I had the same idea....Got my brass by buying loaded Hornady. After loading a couple times iv got 200 Norma's now, the difference in quality was remarkable. I paid 70-80cents apiece for them, if you do the math for the life of this brass the difference in price is a non factor!

I have Norma, Hornady, and Remington brass for my 204R. I test my loads with Norma and Hornady side by side. I just finished loading 700 rounds of 204R( Norma 1st loading 250 rounds, Remington 100 rounds 2nd loading and Hornady 4th loading 350 rounds), 1800 rounds of .223( 1300 Federal match 4th loading and 500 L-C brass 2nd loading ) and 150 .222 Remington T/C 1st loading for this springs shooting. Federal match crimped primer brass are by far the biggest pain to load when talking about tight primer pockets than any other brass with the exception of PMC. :D But, I bought 2000 rounds of Federal match brass once fired for $180.00 shipped. I scaled all the brass and sorted by .5 grain difference, gave away the extreme high and low weight brass, then sized, trimmed, and reamed primer pockets. I am on my 4th loading with my first batch without trimming or full length sizing, just neck sizing for my bolt gun. Bottom line, I love to spend my winters are spent loading ammo and spring is spent pulling triggers at soon to be gone grophers.
