Re: Is the 204 enough as a full time coyote gun.

I'd guess it all depends on what bullet you would want to shoot, I perfer the smaller grain bullets so the 204 suits me just fine, But if I were going to shoot 40 grain and above I might go with the 22-250, I had smoking coyote load with the 40 grain HP's out of my 22-250. But the 35 and 32 grain bu...

Re: Ted the Wonderdog

Re: Varmint Stalker strikes again

Well gents, not all the dogs are like that middle one but there are a few alright. Along the Candadien Line Out of a hundred dogs you might get 25 like the middle one. the middle one has the fur but not the size. it was a pretty small coyote I'm guessing a young female. When I shot that coyote I was...

Re: Is the 204 enough as a full time coyote gun.

the 204 can be a full time coyote gun for sure, but I'd look for a different bullet than the 39 serria blitzkings, :chin: they have a history of splash wounds  and I've experanced it myself I'd either go with the 35 grain Berger HP's or the 32 V max's

Varmint Stalker strikes again

went out yesterday, Shooting a Browning Varmint Stalker in 204, using 35 grain Berger HP's, the 35 Bergers are a little tougher on Fur than the 32 V max's s but not real bad, and it puts them down for the count.

Re: Vmax ok for coyotes?

Up until a few days ago I would have defended the 39 grain blitzkings but yesterday I had 2 splash wounds and one got away, I did shoot 6 with the 39'rs and had good results, I'm not sure what to think but I shooting 35 berger HP's for the rest of the year and going to try to shoot the 40 grain Berg...
