Wow! Got the call at 2pm today that the rifle was at my ffl. Picked it up and brought it home. Cleaned it and scoped it, all is looking good and works fine. Have to wait for the scope base to come in Friday and will be out this weekend breaking in the barrel.

Rifle ordered on Monday and today (Wednesday) I got my tracking #.
Have a silver scope base and pillars and stock bedding kit on the way. Going to slap on a Sightron 36x42 scope I have and break the barrel in. Here in Minnesota the weather can be tricky this time of year.

Well I put my order in for the Remington 700 Stainless Fluted 223 with Dahlonega Armory this morning. A nice surprise was that there was no sales tax on my order. Maybe someday I'll own a 204.

My research on Dahlonega tells me that it is a legitimate seller/supplier.

Thanks, I needed to hear that. I was leaning toward the 223 and only wondering about a 204. My killing days are over and will leave that to you folks. Without steel and paper I guess I would just hang it up.

I have no doubt that many used rifles are perfectly (or near to) okay and that a brand new out of the box rifle may have flaws. But there are so many hack rifle owners out there who do not know which end to insert a cleaning rod if in fact they clean it or are ignorant as to what a bore guide is mak...

I own Savages and Rugers of various calibers but I do not own a Remington 700. I find that buying used rifles is just not my thing as my suspicious side tells me to beware.
