Re: 204 and the three "4895 " powders
Rick, as soon as I logged of, I knew that your question would be the first thing asked. All three grouped right around 5/8" with H4895 grouping at .600. This was going to be another thread, but I'll ask it here. The size of the groups horizonally is close to a quarter inch; the vertical stringi...

204 and the three "4895 " powders
Finally , with good weather, I got out today to do some shooting at paper and got to really get a feel for the new (Rifle Basix) trigger on my Ruger 77 VT. While going over my load development for this gun, I noticed that I have used all 3 of the "4895 " powders; those being IMR 4995, H489...

Re: Limited reloading supplies in stock.
Uplander, PLEEEEEASE tell me that Guns Unlimited is not out of powder and primers!!!
Was thinking of heading out that way to pick up some H4895 for this summers pd shoot. they've had the best 8 lb price on powder I can find.

Re: new cz 527 varmint
My Cz Varmint(wood stock) likes 39 gr Sierras pushed along with 28 gr of H4895 in Hornady brass with Federal 205 primers. This load shoots just over .5 inch pretty consistanly.I enjoy the cz, but it just does not have a heavy enough barrel to be a primary shooter if you are after prairie dogs or gro...

Re: Anybody shoot a ruger 77vt in 204?
furhntr, buy the gun; even it has the 2 stage trigger. last spring I consistantly killed prairie dogs out to 400 yards and that was with the crappy trigger. Literally 20 minutes ago finished putting on a Rifle Basics trigger on it and it now has one of the best, lightest trigger pulls of all my varm...

AA 2460
Accurate 2460 is very good in the 223 with 55 gr bullets. Shoots well in the 204 with the whole range of bullets from 32 -40 grains. Very close to BL-c2 on the burn rate chart.

Re: 39g Sierra BK and M77 Target Grey
My Ruger 77 V/T shoots 40 gr VMax bullets real well. 28 gr of IMR 4895, 205 Fed primers, Hornady brass. Killed about a bagillion pds with this load last June. I may own a fluke in this Ruger, because it shoots Nosler 40 Ballistic tips and Sierra 39 BlitzKings well, also. On the other hand, my CZ 204...

204um Challenge: Let the excuses begin!
Well, I'm taking off on vacation next weekend, so I thought I better get the shootin' done today. Had leftover ammo from pd shooting this spring, so that's what I went with (so it could be the "stale" ammo I used). The weather was nice, overcast, 65 degrees and just enough a breeze to say ...

Re: deburing the flashhole on a 204 ruger
Thanks, Loyd. I read your post , went to the gun room and pulled out my case trimmer. It worked just like you said, but the bit I used didn't have much taper to it, so I did one "better". I have the 17 cal. cutter for my Forster timmer and the pliot hole in it fit a .140 bit just perfectly...

Re: IMR4198 and 40 Nosler Ballistic Tips
I'm shooting 40 gr Ballistic tips, Winchester brass, 7 1/2 Rem br primers. 24.0 gr of H4198 cut the ragged hole. Went up to 24.2 and the group opened up just a bit; still a nice small group. As soon as I can get these loads over the chronograph, I'll post some muzzle velocities.

Re: IMR4198 and 40 Nosler Ballistic Tips
I had been wanting to try H4198 in my 204, mainly because it shoots so well in my 222. Finally got time and the weatheer cooperated this past weekend. I got some info from a shooter on Saubier.com about where to start with H4198 in the 204 and his info was right on. I was very happily surprised when...

Re: Which brass
Rick, Norma is making brass for the 204. Had some in my hands at Precision Reoading in Mitchell, SD this summer; I did leave it there, though,; a bit pricey for me....$1 a piece. check it out at precisionreloading.com

Re: IMR 4320 in a 204?
Glenn, Your'e going to be real happy with 2460. I first bought it on a close out for $6; not really knowing what I was buying. I started playing with it in my 223 14 twist and quickly found out it liked 2460 with the 55 grn VMax. At the time, I didn't know the velocity, but it shot real tight groups...
