Re: Accurate 2495 ?

I tried some last fall. 29 grains pretty much fills up the case. Velocity with 32 gr Sierra BlitzKings was 4108 average for five shots. grouped just under an inch out of my Ruger 77V/T no pressure signs.. I have other loads that are faster and more accurate, so i did'nt go any further with load deve...

CED has served me well

One very nice unit. Reliable; The RSI ballistic software works great, too. The web site says more than I can. http://www.shootingsoftware.com/index.htm

Re: H4895 for 204?

I've shot H4895 behind 32 gr Sierras with great results. Grouping a little over 1/2" and just over 4100 fps. That is out of my Ruger 77V/T; Got the load right out of the load data page of this site. 29 gr of powder, Winchester brass, Rem 7.5br primers. I would definitely go higher in charge wei...

Re: Off Topic, no killin' or shootin' involved

We were in Yellowstone last September, the week after Labor Day week. Alot less traffic, The anaimals are moving about; bull elk and bison were just starting to rut and you had to keep a close eye on them. We came in over Beartooth Pass just after the first snow on top; the road was still open but t...

Re: No Joy in Montana this year

Mike; you are right. I know I was blessed to be up there in the outback of Montana;I enjoyed talking with ranchers and seeing new parts of eastern Montana, but it still would have been nice to have a few more targets. Hotshot: there are more pds in and around the Black Hills, but when the weather is...

No Joy in Montana this year

I got back from my annual outing to Montana two weeks ago. I haven't been on the varmint shooting forums much since then..mostly just because I've been sulking. I had THE worst prairie dog shooting trip since I can remember. Got up to the ranch that I've shot on for the past 9 years to be told by th...

Re: Checklist for prairie dog shoot

I always throw in a blank sight in target or two. and some kind if a target holder. (a good size cardboard box works). Seems like gremlins always get into at least one of my gun cases on the way to the killing fields and mess with the scope knobs. :eew:

Re: Thoughts on Lee Collet Reloading dies.

I have collet dies I use with my 204 and my 222. I like them. (I don't like Lee full length dies). I don't think they stress the brass quite as much as regular neck dies. I also like the seating dies that come with the Lee collet dies. just my 2 cents worth...

Re: Powder for 204 and 243

Another vote for H4895. I currently use it in my loads for both of my 204s and have had very good results in the past in the 243 , especially with light bullets (55 - 70 gr).

Re: Powder Preference

H4895 for 39 and 40 grain bullets; Accurate 2460 works well with 32 gr Sierras.
