Rick, thanks a bunch for the info!!! I appreciate it. I did mount the scope and looked through it to figure out eye relief. Sorry if I did not communicate that well in my post. The real problem is I cannot get the scope far enough forward on the rifle. I bought a weaver rail adapter that I mentioned...

Glenn, thanks. Is that, that dial thingy on the end of the scope, kinda like a focus knob? I did play with it, maybe that is the problem. I turned it in as far as it could go, maybe that is the problem?

32 grain versus 39 grain for coyote?

I like the 32s, how they shoot out of my gun and the velocity. The Winchester ballistic silvertips. Would they be OK for coyotes?

Thanks

Thanks guys, I did not really check about the fit. It seemed like it fit, or like it fits. I'll check it out. I see about adding the spacers to the butt plate. What is compounding things is that forgeting about cheek weld and all is if I just took the scope off and looked through it, there is only o...

Thanks guys. Seems like I had two problems, the eye relief inherent with my 4.5x14 scope and not being able to mount the scope far enough forward.

However, I think pushing the scope as far forward as possible will be ok. I'll try another scope.

The internet is so great.
Thanks

Tested out the CZ 527 204, need some help, though

I finally got out and shot my new CZ 527 Varmint 204. It seemed like I had the scope, a Leupold Vari III 4.5x14 by 50mm as far forward as possible. See my photo. However, it still seemed like I had to hold my head back on the stock in order to see through the scope. It seems like this particular sco...

Flatest, wind buckingest sheep cartrige???

Hi, I got drawn for a desert bighorn hunt in Ca. I expect winds up to 50mph and long, long shots. I have a 30-06 and thought about going with the Hornady light magum rounds in 150 grain. But what about other rounds? I mean that would buck the wind and are flat shooting. The desert bighorns are not d...

Thanks guys, this is what I was talking about, I copied this from the front page of the site here "Due to the low recoil, .204 owners are enjoying the ability of seeing the bullet do its work through the scope. You can’t do this with the bigger flat shooters, the .22-250 or the Swift. Tr...

Cracker, thanks. The CZ 527 American in Varmint weighs 7.3 lbs, so with a scope your gun weighs about 9 lbs or so. Unless it is not a 527 model.

Thanks

Bob, that is great to hear. What kind of scope do you have and the magnification?
Thanks

Looking for rifle w/ small amount of barrel jump

Hi, I am looking for a 204 rifle and I like the standard CZ American, however it is really light at just over 6 pounds and has a 22 inch barrel. The American Varmint model is about a pound heavier and the weight is in the barrel, which is also 2 inches longer, 24 versus 22 inches. I would like a rif...
