Rick-
What does your go gauge measure with your stony point? I wasn't questioning the cad drawing. I'm questioning my go gauge. Why wouldn't it match the blueprint?

Rick- How is it that your cad drawing shows 1.539 and my stonypoint head space gauge reads 1.550 on my go gauge? What does your go gauge measure to? I am using the 330 gauge on the comparator. acloco- I'm sure not worried about .001". I'm worried about .020. If I set up my chamber on my go gaug...

I'm guessing they are concerned about proper tightening and I had some concern as well but I looked it over carefully and it seemed to want to work from my inspection and tightened well without bottoming out. I have maybe 500 rounds through the rifle since then and groups hold around 1/2 moa. It is ...

I'm talking about the length from the datum line to the case base(what I would call the case head). There will be a .020" growth in the brass near the case head on the first firing if I use a saami go gauge to set head space and load as normal. Do you have any new ww brass on hand to check? The...

Oh most honorable Silverfox

I really hate to disagree twice. It just ain't nice but I gotta do it. WT- The inserts are in thousands as was previously stated. How much the offset will adjust your POI downrange will depend on the distance between your rings. The closer your rings are together, the greater the offsets will affect...

Winchester brass problems (way too short)

I purchased 500 winchester cases a while back while waiting for my pacnor 204 barrel to go on my savage action. I had to wait for my go gauge. While I was waiting, I uniformed the primer pockets and deburred the flash holes. I then measured a bunch of them and found them all to be in between 1.843 a...

I believe the +20 that you are referring to is in thousands not degrees or more accurately in minutes. The distance between your rings will determine what moa is possible with .020" of offset. On my rifle, +20 in the rear and -20 in the front will net me around 15 moa if I remember correctly.

Be careful with them. My sub moa gun was about a 12 moa gun while shooting those final finish bullets. I had never missed the target before. After seeing that, I moved up for the rest of them.

I spoke with a tech guy from Hornady yesterday about this issue. He told me that this cartridge was designed to work best with a minimum freebore of .130 in order to work best. He warned that shortening it by adjusting the chamber length would likely lead to pressure issues with their factory ammo.
