Yes, Leupold makes a decent scope but much of the parts are outsourced, (Read Asia) and assembled here.

Another choice would be the Nikon Buckmaster refurb at Natchez. I just picked up a 4-12x50 and it's about as bright as my Zeiss.

Haven't had much go bad even though some was over 35 years old. Did have one can get "red". More often than not I discard powder for other reasons like not meeting my load criteria. It gets sprinkled in my wife's garden as it is an excellent fertilizer.

I've got one and it's sweet. I'm sure you'll enjoy yours.

My wife has the Taurus Titanium Model 617 .357 snubby. When we go to the range everyone is amazed how well she shoots it. It's ported and has the ribbed grip which really controls recoil. Yes, she shoots full house .357's.
