Velocity Questions

I have a question regarding velocity. I realize that accuracy is more important than velocity in most cases, but I've been puzzled with my findings. I also realize that powder can vary from lot to lot and barrel length is said to have some effect, but I believe I read it to be quite insignificant wi...

I have a Howa 1500 Varmint supreme here in 22-250. I find the trigger to be very crunchy and creepy. My 10/22 with the VQ target hammer is as good or better than the Howa. Timney makes a trigger for it and I have one here to install soon. The reviews of the trigger are good and lots of comments abo...

Still looking for the "blue patch" from my Sako. Not sure what I'm missing. I use Tipton Truly Remarkable bore cleanerand the only time I see a little baby blue/gray is the two times that I've had the bronze brush in the bore. I have about 300-400 rounds thru it so far and have patched it ...

WrzWaldo,

I take it you've had bad luck with the Dogtown's? Could you elaborate please? I've had really good luck with my Sako shooting clean, and don't want to change that by running poor bullets...

I shoot red squirrels (size of a chipmunk maybe a bit bigger) from our deer blinds as they always chatter and give us up. While waiting for them to come in, I've shot 3 mice as well.

I love my new BR Pivot Lite.

Say why do you run your scope cover off to the side like that versus up? Just curious. I also notice you don't appear to be using a front stop. Are you putting the sling stud just past the bag?

Acloco, a couple quick questions from a newbie:

1) You stated the 40gr Vmax primers were marginal. Is this curable with a tougher primer, or indicative of pushing the limits?

2) Have you any interest in testing the 39bk with XMR2015? This is what Sierra lists as a good accuracy load.

I have a Sako like Rick in Oregon. I'm not that great a shooter, and haven't got the best bench setup yet (ordered BR pivot lite from Rick) and only have a 60 yd range. My 10/22 is shooting better than the 204 with some factory loads. First I thought that I totally sucked. Then I shot some more and ...
