Re: Notice Anything Wrong
the pics posted by silverfox look just like the 204 WW brand new brass i had trouble with when seating the bullets, but i found a cure for this after a whole lot of problems. turns out the ww new brass is very rough inside the necks. started out using rcbs dies. i even went so far as buying redding ...

Re: Somebody want a Cooper 204??
I think I'll stay with the medium rings unless there is a problem I can't for see. i was talking to my gun guy just the other day about ring heights. he said, as long as you are shooting from a bench or a good rest, ring height is not a big deal. if you are using the rifle as a carry gun or hunting...

Re: Hey guys I am new here.
the book loads on the 40 gr vmax only allow less than 2 full grains of h335 min to max. i have a decent shooting load for the 40gr vmax with h335. all that i will say is it is close to max load. i have found that the 32gr vmax does shoot better groups with benchmark. also close to max charge shown. ...

Re: Need help with 270 reloading
i don't know about shooting coated bullets. i am loading 130 gr. nosler partition bullets, using imr4831 powder, charge is 52.2 gr. with wlr primers. i would not load above what suggested max load is. maybe try different powders, and maybe different bullets. hopefully someone shooting coated bullets...

Re: howa 1500 .204
i have a howa 1500 in 204. if you bought the gun new, there are instructions in the box on how to adjust the trigger pull. i do believe phasers answer is right though. and you probably will not get below 3 lbs pull. i had install a timney trigger to get my pull down where i want it. if you are using...

Re: Nikon Monarch or Leupold VX-II
i completely agree with the leupold fans on this forum. right now i have vx-1 with 4-12x40mm LR Duplex reticle on my 204. the long range duplex is really nice for holdover or under at distances out to a little over 500 yards with zero at 100 yards. even the vx-1's are really good scopes and this one...

Re: what should i get for a gun
i have the howa 1500 with hogue stock and a bull barrel, 204 ruger. just finished working up some loads with 32gr vmax, rp brass and wsr primers. i went with benchmark powder at 27.2grs. with this load i had groups .625 and smaller. i did put a timney trigger in it, adjusted to 2lbs pull. the rifle ...

Leupold custom scope
Has anyone here had any experience with the Leupold VXII custom scope? I have ordered 1 from optics planet, and should be here next week. had them do a custom mil-dot for my 204. i gave them the info that was asked for setting the mil-dot. the info included 204 Ruger, with a 32 grain VMax bullet. B....

i have a howa 1500 in 204. i am still working up some loads for her, but from what i have experienced, this is a great rifle. i did install a timney trigger. original cost was 530.00.predhunter wrote:does any one any thing about the howa lightning and how it shoots.

Re: Where do I get a Lee Factory Crimp Die
i sent an email to http://www.leeprecision.com and asked them about a collet sizing die. they said i would have to order thru them. my suggestion would be to send an email to them asking the same question you asked here. you should get a reply within 1 day, answering your question. in other words, y...

Re: Which bore guide
My Hogue/Howa .204 arrived yesterday. The Dewey bore guide .17-.22 will not fit. The collar is to big to fit in the back of the receiver. Anyone have a suggestion? The Stoney Point is also too big. call stoney point (Hornady now) and let them know you need the new sleeve for a weatherby rifle, or i...

F/S Lyman trimmer with original pilots
For Sale; Lyman universal trimmer, in original box. includes all of the original pilots. used very little only for trimming about 300, 223 brass. I am asking $40.00, plus postage to your location. I never had any problems with this unit, but when i decide to prep my brass, I usually go thru a lot of...

Re: opinion on Howa
IMHO, you can't go wrong with the howa. i own a howa 1500 in 204, i have found a very promising load with h335 powder and a 32 gr. vmax. when the weather around here settles down a bit, i have loaded a few with benchmark for testing. as for fit and finish, i think it is as good as any commercial rif...

Re: I just found it. Winchester model 62A
hey huntsman i have absolutely no intention of selling this gun. great picture. my brother in law has the 62a in a gallery model, octagon barrel and only shoots .22 shorts. we checked the manufacture date, by serial number on mine. it was manufactured in 1937. don't know about the gun my brother got...
