Re: electronic powder scales

I don't shoot in any competition shooting, just for what we call our rats out here in the west. I have been using my RCBS 1500 Chargemaster for over 15 yrs, or maybe longer. I sent it back to RCBS about ten years ago to have it recalibrated. They sent a note that all I needed to do, was to clean it ...

Re: Which trigger

I have Rifle Basix, Jard and a couple of Timney's in a variety of my rifles. But I am the only one shooting these rifles, and I have each one set to break at between 12ozs. and 15 ozs. All are consistent at their break point. I can recommend each of them. But like I stated, I am the only one shootin...

270 Winchester brass

Sold both of my 270's so I will not be reloading for those rifles anymore. But I have a lot of RP brass that are once fired and I have 100 brand new Winchester brass left over that I am wanting to sell. I am asking $47.00 for the brand new brass. As for the once fired brass, I am asking $10.00 per b...

Re: NEW BARREL BREAK-IN ???

When I got my Cooper, I followed the break-in procedure that came with the rifle. Yes it is tedious, but I have to believe that it worked out really well. After a day in the rat patch and sometimes over 100 rounds down range launching said rats, the rifle is a lot easier to get clean. Patches down t...

Re: Remington .25-06rem brass????

I have a box of 100 brand new 270 Win. brass, that I don't need anymore. Just sold both of my 270's. Anyone interested, PM me here . I agree with Bill, That 270 and 06 brass can be easily resized to a different caliber, without much hassel. Also have a few boxes of once fired brass for the 270.

Re: H4895 / Sierra Blitzking

I have a Howa 1500 Varminter also. If you are happy with those velocities, and velocity is what you really want in that 1500, then all is good. Personally I would rather hit my target at 3500 fps, than miss my target at 4200 fps or maybe 4400fps :chin:. The most accurate load in my 1500 is with RE10...

Re: bolt face to Lands Savage M12fv

A good Belding spot at least until 2007 were the fields near the Junata Lake rd just before you get to the Ranger Station in McDol on HWY 96, there were always shooters on both sides of the road, we were told there were several other farmers who'd let you shoot their fields, but we just shot there,...

Re: bolt face to Lands Savage M12fv

Silverfox is spot on. The 204, factory chamber is very long, to some seems way to long to get it to shoot worth a darn. This looong jump is where the 204 shines, compared to most calibers. My Howa in 204 has a jump, to the best estimate I am able to come up with, even with the proper tools, is aroun...

Re: Trimming brass

Any brass I've bought the past few years is all shorter than my Hornady handbook state That is a very good reason to Fire Form your brass before you even think about trimming that precious brass. Once fire formed, check for need for trimming, but my guess is you still will not need to even trim the...

Re: Primer choices

I got together with a shooting buddy of mine, when primers were hard to get, and we found some on one of the reloading sites for a decent price. We bought 10,000 primers together, and paid the haz mat for the shipping. Don't remember where or or what we paid, but it was well worth it to both of us. ...

Re: ND PD Hunt on 9-16-2016

Another great hunt, SF, and thanks for taking us along for the ride! I know how much you like the Leupold VXIII, with that varmint hunter reticle! I have same on my Cooper, in 20VT. Don't know about you, but, for me, time in my reloading room is very gratifying too! But the trigger pulling does it b...

Re: H4895 V IRM4895

Because of the elongated grains of powder in the IMR powders, is the main reason for me. Try this just to see what I am talking about. Meter out say 26.5 grains of each powder, and using your funnel, drop the powder into your 204 case, Immediately you will see the problem getting the IMR powder to g...
