Re: new scope

Check out Leupold's Rifleman and VX-I lines - good glass (and Leupold quality) in your price range.

Re: Who Needs a 26" Barrel?

All barrels are different and each one is a rule unto itself. Conventional wisdom says that shorter barrels will develop less velocity than longer ones. Probably the only way to verify this is by sawing off a barrel and retesting. The variation between individual barrels is often greater than the va...

Re: 35 Whelen??

A fine caliber for large game. 22" is plenty of barrel. Mine is an Ackley Improved and sends 250 grain Hornadays down range at 2675 fps chronograph velocity. Kills elk nicely.

Shoot it and the rifle will tell you what needs to happen - each rifle is it's own story.

New rifle, no magazine

Just got a new (to me) used rifle - a Kimber of Oregon M-82 in 22LR. Only problem, no magazine with the rifle. Can anybody help me find one. It does not use the same magazine as the new Kimber 22s. It is a straight (as opposed to curved), round front, 5 shot magazine. Other than that it is a sweetie...

WTB Kimber M-82 magazine

Looking for a magazine for a Kimber of Oregon M-82 22 rifle. It does not use the same magazine as the new Kimber 22s. It is a straight (as opposed to curved), round front, 5 shot magazine.

My Savage LRPV likes 27.0 H-335, CCI450, Winchester cases. Five shot groups @3/8" at 100 yards and works good on dogs.

Re: Was a good weekend

The Henry Golden Boy is about as sweet as 22 lever guns get these days. It is smooth to operate, accurate and a very fun gun. Keep it, use it yourself - you'll like it lots, and pass it on as you said.
