Re: Harrell Powder throwers?

I agree with Squatting Wolf, drop a tad light and measure ALL. I'm so paranoid that I even verify zero on the scale every 5 charges. Usually for no reason.
All in all though, with reloading equipment I'd rather spend good money once than bad money 3 times.

Re: Having trouble with new Remington 700 VTR accuracy

I've come to conclusion that my Rem 700 VLSS is a republican and factory ammo is democrat (notice I lower case both). The two just don't play well together. Though I haven't quite seen the same groups you discribe, it did take quite a few rounds "break in" the barrel AND learn the gun. But...

Re: .480 ruger

After several years of deer hunting with an -06, I grew bored with the "trigger pull" style of hunting. I've switched over to hunting with handguns after talking around. Here in SW MO the shots are usually less than 100 yards and very attainable for a big bore H/G. And after hunting with a...

Re: Back from SD pictures.

Captqc Yeah, I just found a picture with you and your VLSS. I happened across mine on gunbroker.com and seldom ever see one. I'm hoping they discontinue it for the value to go up. Still learning the gun as I think all guns have a "g-spot" in how they are shot(at least if you want to hit s...

Re: Yard Varmint Safari

Water is the way to go. Just remember shotguns NOT! So far I'm pretty good because I've grub treated the lawn so heavily. But if there is one in th yard, I will equally treat the forum. I have tinkered with many back yard ballistics ideas. Some of which will attract more than desired attention from ...

Re: Well I hate to do this but I have to.

After reading all the data I could get my hands on just knew the .204 was for me. After 1 1/2 years I got my Rem 700 VLSS, took it over to a buddys place to sight in and I was P($$d :wall: ! It wouldn't group less than 3 inches at 100yards. I didn't like being smoked by a .22LR. Not willing to give ...

Re: Yard Varmint Safari

I've had great success with these lawn insurgents by shoving a garden hose in a fresh tunnel. They surface pretty fast. First lesson learned though was DO NOT shoot the wet mole-in the now muddy lawn with a 12ga. loaded with turkey magnums. Your wife will NOT be impressed by your prouness or the cra...

Re: Back from South Dakota.

A friend of mine down here has a contact through the net up in Mobridge,SD(north central). He found some private land for us to stomp on and insisted that we stay at his place. All of his people up there were confused as to why a couple of Missouri boys here so excited about the "red mist"...

Back from South Dakota.

First I'd like to say that I don't like to join forums because they are usually full of meatheads that would rather ridicule than advise. My hats off to you all for the support of the sport and the open mindedness. I've been pulling an enormous amount of info from these threads after I bought my Rem...
