Always thought the VTRs looked pretty neat.
Couple Qs, ok, maybe 3:
1-Does the break make it alot louder?
2-say if you hunt at night, the vertical blast would almost blind ya, wouldn't it?
3-Is there any real benefit to the brake?

Tom, To be honest :lol: its the action that came on it. I haven't a clue if its a target one or not.
It is a 26" fluted heavy barrel.

I like to load 50 at a time and rotate the powder charged ones down to next slot, if that makes since.

As you know about the scope issue, I got it back and the same thing happened. I never thought to check this only because, I have never had anything come from Savage bad. Mdl 12 BCTSS 204 has only 15 rounds ran through it. It clover leafed shots at 100. That was with the 34 Midsouths. Less scope,rings,and sling. Bases stay on. I just don't shoot it. Have you tried a different scope to see how the gun shoots? I just had 2 incidents in the past year that were similar to what you're having. For me the scope was bad on the shotgun and on the rifle I had to send it back to savage and they rebarreled it and that fixed it. Thats my next thing to do, ...
