Always thought the VTRs looked pretty neat.
Couple Qs, ok, maybe 3:
1-Does the break make it alot louder?
2-say if you hunt at night, the vertical blast would almost blind ya, wouldn't it?
3-Is there any real benefit to the brake?

As you know about the scope issue, I got it back and the same thing happened. I never thought to check this only because, I have never had anything come from Savage bad. I did look down bore, from action end and cleaned it before I shot it, in the beginning. So, I looked here. http://img.photobucket...

Mdl 12 BCTSS 204 has only 15 rounds ran through it. It clover leafed shots at 100. That was with the 34 Midsouths. Less scope,rings,and sling. Bases stay on. I just don't shoot it. Have you tried a different scope to see how the gun shoots? I just had 2 incidents in the past year that were similar to what you're having. For me the scope was bad on the shotgun and on the rifle I had to send it back to savage and they rebarreled it and that fixed it. Thats my next thing to do, ...
