Re: Veteran's Day

I've always had a great respect for the men and women who served and are currently serving in our Armed Forces. Words cannot express the respect and gratitude I have for all of them. My son served in the US Army for 4 years and was honorably discharged in Dec. of '07. He was deployed in Baghdad for ...

Re: Loads for DPMS AR15 in .204 Ruger

I've tried 748 but didn't get the accuracy I was looking for. I do use it in my .223 loads for my RRA AR and it is one of the more accurate powders for that gun. I have a Dillion 550 for reloading the 223 and 748 does meter so smoothly. Thats why I wish I could use ball powder for the .204 AR but to...

Re: New Trigger

I just got one myself. I bought a Timney single stage for my AR. I don't think I've had such a crisp, zero creep trigger. It's amazing how a good trigger can shrink group sizes. The only thing I have to be careful of is that it's a single stage and I'm used to a Rock River 2 stage match. Hope yours ...

Re: .480 ruger

I've had my .480 SRH for about 4 years now and though I don't get a chance to shoot it much, I really enjoy it when I do. My Super Redhawk is a 6 shooter with a 7 1/2" bbl and a Bushnell 2-6 variable scope mounted on top. My favorite load is a 410 gr. CBP LBT over 21.5 grains of W296. It chrony...

Re: Bad Luck w/ 40gr. Hornady

I've not had very much luck with the 40 gr. V-max but my AR shoots the 39 Sierras between .625"-.75" on a good day.

Loads for DPMS AR15 in .204 Ruger

After testing most of the recommended powders for the .204 (8 different powders) I've found in both of my DPMS AR15's that IMR4895 and H4895 is the powder of choose. Sierra 32 gr. BK over 27.5 grs. of H4895 averages .50" for five shots with an occasional dip into the .25" range. Sierra 39 ...

My 3 favorite powders for AR-15. Haven't tried Benchmark yet.

Re: IMR 4895?

I use H4895 and IMR4895 in my DPMS AR-15. So far they’ve produced the most accurate reloads outperforming H322, BL-C(2), W748, AA2520, and Varget. I couldn’t get the Hornady 32 gr V-max to shoot under an inch with any of the above powders but switching to the 32 gr. Sierra Blitzking al...

Re: First sloppy hole!

I think the .204 is an exceptional round and the posts in this forum, like yours, proves it. My DPMS loves the 32 gr. Sierra Blitzking. I could not get consistant groups using the Hornady V-max, in 32 and 40 grain weights. I'm not knocking the V-max because I owned a Savage in .22-250 that shot 5/8&...

Re: Sierra 32 gr. Blitzking loads for DPMS AR-15

Yesterday evening I took the DPMS out and had 3 different 5 round loads to test. Everything was going fine until I dropped my shell holder and cartridges went flying everywhere. The only thing I could do was shoot the rounds and hope for the best. I lost 3 rounds under the shooting platform so I onl...

Sierra 32 gr. Blitzking loads for DPMS AR-15

I own a DPMS Panther in .204 Ruger and for the first 100 rounds of factory loads and 200 rounds of reloads could not get it to group below 1.25" @100 yards with some loads grouping over 2.5". I used 5 different powders in my reloads but only one brand of bullet which was the Hornady V-max....
