Re: 204 Ruger wins 300 yard belly match

They're listed in the back of every shooting sports USA magazine. They may be on the nra.org website under competitions. If not, there is a highpower email you can drop a line too that may be able to help you out.

Re: Varget and 39g SBK's

I tried 28.1 of each powder listed below with a 39 SBK, RP-case and R 71/2 primers with a CZ-527 American. Case OAL was 2.260, the barrel length is 22", the temp was 45 degrees and the elevation was at sea level. Reloader 15; 3480 H4895: 3500 Varget: 3350 I'm going to retest at a different loca...

Re: Soliciting opinions....

Is thew 6.5x55 Swede the same (or very similar) as the 260 Remington? I'll have to read up on the 257 Roberts because I'm unfamiliar with it (although I've heard about it).

Thanks,

Jim

Re: Need info primers backing out!

Ryan,

You can oversize and its not too hard to do. When I have a caliber I load for the upmost accuracy one of the tools I buy is a "Wilson Cartridge Gage". They run around $20.00 or so and I've found them to be very useful, especially when a gas-gun is in the picture.

Re: A second research paper

I just thought I'd toss out the various issues because there is more than one. You don't want to over-engineer the task because you may loose everybody. But I would leave you with these thoughts as well; 1. No firearm (that I'm aware of) has ever acted on its own (load, lock, cock, aim and fire) wit...

Re: A second research paper

Adding to Rick's comment, the articles also provide the source of the report, usually a local newspaper and if your aor the student is not a NRA member, I'd join today. If it were me I'd try and break down the other sides argument. Gun control comes at us from many directions/issues. For example; 1....

Re: AR 15 trigger

Never tried them. One thing to remember, in the target shooting world, lock-time is important and I believe thats one of the reasons the Giselle gets the nod. Another being Jewells have a reputation of not holding their trigger weight day in-and-day out (although I've never experienced that issue) w...

Re: AR 15 trigger

I have Jewell's in mine that I picked up about 10 years ago (it seems) and they have worked well for me. However, several years ago an outfit called "Giselle" came out with one and it seems the folks in the highpower world really prefer them. They're pricey.

Re: bullet?

I like mine although it needed free floating and bedding to get all of the potential. Mine really liked the 39 SBK and only the 40 so-so. I have some 35 Bergers loaded up to test out, hopefully this weekend.

Re: 39 Grain BK

Its amazing how different barrels are. I am using 25.7 Grains of Benchmark and can only get 3615 at the muzzle. I went to 26+ and still was only around 3675. I am starting to wonder about my chronogragh. Someone here mentioned to me (a while back) to hang a weight on the tripod just in case tha muz...

Re: Vihta Vouri powder

Interesting....

Can't say I've ever heard of this but then again, I've used mine in AR's. With a auto-loader style weapon I've always felt I needed to full length size and have plenty of neck tension because part of the course is rapid fire.

Re: Vihta Vouri powder

I've used it in 223 for highpower comp. Mostly, I've used N135 & N540. I do have some N165 for something else. It's a short extruded powder much like Reloader 15 and it measures quite well thru my Dillon set up. One caviat though, it ain't cheap. The las I looked it was around $175 for a 8lb keg...

Well have fun and stay safe. I'm probably going to miss out this year because of a myriad of things, not to mention a couple of aging parents back east. But rest asure I'm loading and restocking the 17 HMR for next year.

Re: Concealed Carry on Campuses

Just look at those smirking SOB's Charlie Skummer and one of Illinois's finest, Mel (the child predator/molester) Reynolds out of Illinois's 2nd Congressional District (aka Chicago). What the video didn't show was how callous the treated her after she was through speaking. Slick Willy commuted his s...
