Re: Any Recent News about N135?

Yes, my measurements were with the 35 gr Berger...... UPDATE: I just inherited 500 39 grain James Calhoon bullets which will be interesting to try as well. The DTL with those are COAL = 2.325. On the James Calhoon website he has a pretty impressive 5 shot group using the 39 grain bullet and 27.5 gra...

Re: Any Recent News about N135?

Unless there is something I'm not thinking about, I feel I can get to the lands on this Cooper. Which by the way is a.204 and I just got it last Friday..... I used the stoney point OAL gauge to find the lands and found them to be right at 2.380". Couldnt get the Base to Ogive measurment as I ha...

Re: New Bullets

My bet is your "off the shelf" Savage is a 1-12 twist for the .204. I personally wouldn't expect them to be good with that slow of twist. This would be a good test though. I have shot heavier bullets than the twist should have supported and had surprisingly good results..... Please, keep u...

Re: Any Recent News about N135?

Wow. Now that's some serious detail. Thanks! I was thinking about loading it in my Cooper Phoenix, as I can get to the lands with that rifle. I also have the Redding Type S Bushing dies, and I could get the neck tension right. But the insane charge weight requirement will keep me going with Benchmar...

Any Recent News about N135?

Just curious if anyone has recently tried a load with VV N135....In particular, with the 35 Bergers.......??

I have seen a couple of places that have had a few pounds on the shelf and tempting me to to try it.....

Thanks!

WTS: .204 Savage Model 10 Predator - Snow Camo

I just bought this rifle 2 months ago. It is an awesome looking/shooting rifle. It is just broken-in with only 75 or so rounds through it. I have it setup for long distances with drop charts confirmed out to 500 yards. Dial the scope and shoot!! The only reason I am selling is that I purchased anoth...

Re: UPDATED: Need Some Help.....Problem was 39 SBK's!!

Thanks jo191145.....I am going to keep the rifle for now, but I am going to do a brain delete on the 39 SBK's.....I couldn't ever trust 'em enough to ever go back. Just wierd that the 39 SBK is the most popular bullet on this forum and you are the only one who mentioned that they may be my problem.....

UPDATE: Re: Need Some Help.....PROBLEM SOLVED!

jo191145- You're a life saver! I have to admit, I was calling BS on my problem being the 39gr SBK when I read your post last night. However, I woke up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat thinking about it. I had tried the Berger 35 with the same results, so I thought. But what woke me up is I...

Re: Need Some Help.....

Well....I tried a lot of things mostly cleaning the crap out of the barrel. MY conclusion is that I got a BAD barrel. It would shoot very tight the first two or three rounds (mostly two) and then get so bad it was scary. Example....I decided to setup a steel target at 200 yards and after a good clea...

Re: Feeding Problems.....Help?

Yes...they have been changed to a center feed mag. I wasn't there when the gunsmith tried, but he told me that the metal is sooo darn hard and whatever adjustment he was able to make just sprung back to the original origin.....

Re: Need Some Help.....New Rifle Gone Bad!!!

Lock-Ez.....I may have to try that one. However, what if my problem is not due to copper, but to powder residue. Will this CG treatment still be affective on powder residue?

Re: Need Some Help.....New Rifle Gone Bad!!!

Greystone- I would definitely try the 10X. I am not convinced that it's the powder and I am still going to use it until I have proof other wise. I think you will like the groups you get with it..... I tried Benchmark as well in my earlier stages of load development, and my barrel was every bit as di...

Re: Need Some Help.....New Rifle Gone Bad!!!

Oh, Ok....I think I got it now.....

So you are saying (which makes sense) that I should use the TEC for my carbon build up and Flitz for my copper and forget about my Butch's and Sweets, right?
