Living in the free range asylum of California, and shooting inside the lead free Condor Range, after last July when the law went into effect, I only load Barnes Varmint Grenades. They shoot as well as I do. The squirrels don't complain. :D

Just tested some loads with a recent lot of CCI BR4's vs the Remington 7-1/2 and found the difference quite astounding. Those CCI's opened the group from about .65" to 1.25" with no other change. The weather was a bit cold for the SF Peninsula, about 43 degrees, overcast and foggy with a 1...

What you are trying to do is match or better the performance of the RCBS loaded ammo with the Redding die set, in hopes of improving the ammo. First step is to duplicate the environment of the RCBS dies in the Redding, then if it doesn't shoot as well you can look at other factors; neck sizing depth...

If the RCBS dies produce loads that shoot .375" groups with x amount of runout, is there a problem? Is the RCBS a full length or neck size die? Some rifles will shoot better with full length sized brass than neck sized only. Does the runout appear in new unfired brass prior to sizing in the RCB...

Novelty is its own reward. For someone that collects novel firearms it seems a good acquisition, but as a practical firearm it lacks any functional appeal.
