I haven't done much experimenting with my k98, but my current load is 47 grains of IMR 4064 under a 170gr Speer Hotcor. No chrono or recorded group sizes, but they seemed to shoot the best with the open sights! I figured out my load by going to reloadersnest.com

Thanks Bill! You mentioned the smell of the powder. Dad said that the powder has lost some of it's "rubbing alcohol" smell which is what got us wondering how potent the stuff is. I guess we really just need to put it on a chronograph and see how velocities look.
