Re: Nikon Monarch or Leupold VX-II

Well, I actually ended up returning the VX-L for two reasons. First, this scope in the 4.5-14 power needs to have a parallax adjustment on it. It does not and on the highest power, the depth of field is rather small. On 14x, when I adjusted the eyepiece for 100 or 200 yards, everything from about 30...

Re: Nikon Monarch or Leupold VX-II

Opening day is the 15th of September. I can't wait. I am like a little kid at Christmas. Already, I have trouble sleeping. It is a good area, with a high probability of a bull, just don't know how big. I guess I will have to wait and find out.

Re: Nikon Monarch or Leupold VX-II

Well, I really bit the bullet and with the blessing of a gracious wife, I got the Leupold VX-L in 4.5-14x50. Good looking scope to say the least!!! This is for my big game rifle so I got the Boone & Crockett reticle. If ya'll want, I will mount it, shoot it this weekend and let you know what I t...

Nikon Monarch or Leupold VX-II

I am looking at getting a new scope but I want one with some type of compensating reticle. I want to keep the purchase under $500 if possible. I have narrowed it down to these two scopes. I like the simplicity of the LR Duplex reticle on the VX-II 4-12x40 with adjustable objective. But I really have...

Re: Posting Pictures

Check out the instructions of how to post a photo here! It sounds like you may be using the "URL" tag. If so, try using the "Img" tag. The instructions tell you how.

If that still does not work, let me know and I will help!

How to post photos!

The forum software that we are currently using does not support uploading of images. However, you can get photos to appear in your post by "pointing" to photos that already exist on the web. This is a simple, four step process. Note: Please limit the width of the photo to 600 pixels. This ...

Re: pics of my new Cooper 204 Ruger

I just called Cooper and they do make the model 52 that is a repeating rifle. But it only comes in the long action calibers; 25-06, .270, .280 and the 30-06. :(

Re: pics of my new Cooper 204 Ruger

I would love to get a 6.5x284 in a Cooper. The only thing that holds me back is that it would be a hunting rifle and I could not live with it being a single-shot. My dad grew up with a pump .270 and he was incredibly fast and accurate with it. He bought a Ruger #1 in a .300 Win Mag. when I was a tee...

I just found out that this is a bug with the current version. They will be releasing a fix for this problem soon. But until then, notifications are not going to work. Sorry!

Re: What happened?

There will be some more changes. I might look at some of the different "styles" that we can use to see if any are easier on the eyes. :D
