ncvarhtr: The short story is that I enjoy many varmint calibers, and shoot about a dozen different calibers including the 22-250, 220 Swift, and the 223AI. When either running the ballistics on those three against the 204, or shooting them in the field, the drop and wind deflection of the 204 sligh...

Rugerdogdog.... looks like the family had a nice, cool outing in some great looking (and familiar) country. Your daughter reminds me of my grand daughter.....amost twins (are we related? :D ) I'm still waiting for the weather shown in my pic at the top of the thread though.....I'm ready for winter ...

Silverfox: I thought it was such an arrangement, but had not considered the red color. Seems like you've found the magic combination, and it appears it works very well indeed. Love your stories, and your photos leave nothing to be imagined. Nice work there, bud. ncvarhtr: I also shoot the 223 Ackle...

Nice! Tell us about that interesting looking decoy you've got there. Why the reddish color? It sure appears it works!

Okay, I'll build a trailer to hitch up to Skipper's Vette, that way two guys can be back on the trailer, one of them on one of my benches at the rifle, the other loading up more ammo on an "accessory bench", and I'll be in the Vette with Skipper, riding shotgun, drinking the beer! :l...

Okay Hawkeye, now you're pickin on my Sako 204 'cause it's made in Finland? Need I remind you Grasshopper, that I drive a Chevy truck, have many Winchesters (of which you now have one of them), Remington's, Ruger's, Kimbers, Smith & Wessons, etc...... and have an American flag flying out...

The Perfect 204 Day

As it's currently about 19 degrees here, freezing fog, and more winter to go, this shot seems to be about the perfect day...Sunny and warm, an accurate 204 on the bench, good scope, shade, favorite beverage, good friends, and a target rich environment. How far away is springtime??? http://i53.photob...

I've read of this happening when all appears to be good to go, but the load was a reduced charge of slow burning powder. There have been other cases of detonation that destroyed a rifle under those circumstances. No telling if this was the situation with this unfortunate fellow's rifle, but I'm glad...

See, I just knew you guys were gonna pick on me if I told you what I drove! Okay, to vindicate myself, I'll tell you that I've gone through a '57 Chevy, my pet '63 Stingray Split Window Fastback Vette with a bonaroo blueprinted 327, 4-speed, a cherry '67 Chevy Malibu with a 11.5 second built, ...

ennacac: Just an opinion, but I'd guess that your No. 1 in .270 would be worth around $750 right now. That's based on seeing them listed in the Gun List and at shows. Here's a No.3 I put together a couple of years ago for a walkabout rifle for ground squirrels, called coyotes, and rock chucks. Orig...

WT: I've been using WW-231 in all my .45 acp's for years with excellent results. H&G #68 200gr SWC over 5.8grs of 231 is a great combination. It meets major power, and drops coyotes in their tracks (probably two legged varmints too if needed, but that's why they make Hydra-Shocks.....) Did you ...

Okay, okay....to continue the thread hijack, my fear of retribution is based on BMW, Porsche, and Audi, BUT ......I'm still driving my trusty '75 Chevy 4x4 K-10 after 32 years.....350 balanced, blueprinted, lifted, all new running gear, interior, paint...you get the drift. She still looks great, and...
